Option 1:

Please set -dx9 as the launch option.
For the Steam version:
- Steam Library > game "Properties" > "General" > "Selected Launch Options"

Option 2:

Please use DXVK, which improves game compatibility with modern systems.

1. Remove launch option "-dx9"
2. Find the game directory with the Sherlock.exe file
   For the Steam version.
   - Steam Library > game "Properties" > "Installed Files" > "Browse"
   - In the game directory open Binaries\Win32
   The full path should be similar to the one below:
   C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sherlock Holmes - Crimes and Punishments\Binaries\Win32
   and this directory should have Sherlock.exe file.
3. Download attached dxvk-2.6.2-sh7.zip
4. Copy d3d9.dll, d3d11.dll & dxgi.dll to the game directory with the Sherlock.exe
