Frequently Asked Question

In some cases, players on modern PC hardware may encounter such issues:

- Game doesn't launch
- Game freezes after selecting "New game" in the menu

Please see solutions below.

Solution 1 - PhysX
This game depends on the PhysX System Software.
On Steam PhysX installs when the games launches, and on Windows it comes with the Nvidia graphics driver. However, in some cases, the game can't use it.

Please perform the steps below.

1. Uninstall all currently installed PhysX versions
2. Restart Windows
3. Install NVIDIA PhysX System Software
4. Restart Windows
5. Try to launch the game.
   If the problem persists, please proceed to the next step
6. Open the PhysX directory
   C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Common\
   
7. Open the Game directory
   Steam Library → game Properties → Installed Files → Browse
8. Copy PhysXLoader.dll
   from the PhysX directory to the Game directory

Solution 2 - windowed mode
This workaround should help If the game.log
(can be found inside the savegame folder)
reports the error "Can't initialize video device"

Please follow the steps below:

1. Open the Game directory
Steam Library → game Properties → Installed Files → Browse

2. Open the file game.ini
and add the lines below at the end

[video]
windowMode = YES

3. Launch the game as usually
