Frequently Asked Question
Please make sure that the game uses High-Performance GPU.
The game may be incorrectly assigned to the less powerful Graphics card on Laptop or Desktop.
That may trigger crashes, low performance or graphical issues.
Please use either of the methods below to assign the High Performance GPU to the game.
Method 1 (recommended)
Set required GPU with the launch option "graphicsadapter"
Example with the Steam version:
1. Steam Library > "Sherlock Holmes Chapter One > Properties > General
2. Launch options: -graphicsadapter 1
Note: This value is not related to the graphics card number in Windows Task Manager.
“0” refers to the first adapter (the default for the game), and “1” refers to another GPU.
Method 2
Set the preferred GPU for the game in Windows settings.
Note: this method works for Intel iGPU + Nvidia discrete but may not work with AMD iGPU + Intel Arc discrete.
1. Find the game executable.
In the Task Manager right click on the process and select "Open file location"
2. Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics > Custom settings for applications

4. After that the "Shelock Holmes Chapter One" should appear on the list. Select there "GPU preference": "High Performance..."
